The current worldwide demand for laptop computers runs around 169M per year (see our Briefcase Information Packet below). It is projected approximately 21% of these laptops fail each year, equal to 30M plus laptops no longer able to perform as needed. The number one cause of failure is due to cumulative vibration causing hard drive failure and/or related failure of the motherboards. In addition to physical damage that tends to occur when the laptop is moved or in transport, it is now estimated that the worldwide cost of espionage exceeds $367B (Google, 2020, “Worldwide cost of Espionage”), due to theft or illegal downloads.

ATS has filed patents to protect the physical aspects of a portable device, but also has filed patents to protect the information in the laptop, leaving the owner with the ability to wipeout the data on the hard drive through a cellular network. We are seeking $20M from a strategic partner to develop and deploy this combination of physical and intellectual capabilities in one seamless package. ATS has now qualified for the US “Fast Track” program for patent approval and has received a favorable response from our PCT filings.
